GSA to cut 577 schedule vendors, 31 SINs
In March 2025, GSA announced it will cut 31 underused or overlapping SINs and remove 577 vendors from the Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) to streamline procurement.
- SIN Cuts: 31 redundant and low-usage SINs will be eliminated, including 11 in the professional services category and seven in the office management area.
- SIN Additions: a few IT Services will be expanding their subcategories to include or expand AI, Cloud, HACS, etc.

GSA Administrator Ehikian said a few things in a GSA-wide employee meeting:
- The hiring freeze at GSA will extend through 2025 &
- Agencies have frozen 200k gov credit cards
- The GSA Administrator anticipates a significant increase in the agency’s buying authority… He said the executive order will “quadruple” GSA’s contracting volume.
GSA will oversee procurement across all ten categories, including information technology, medical supplies, and professional services.

GSA considers takeover of contracting work at other agencies amid reorganization
The General Services Administration (GSA) is planning to centralize federal procurement by absorbing the contracting responsibilities of several civilian agencies, including OPM, DOE, SBA, and HUD. This initiative, currently in a pilot phase, would eliminate or transfer acquisition staff from those agencies to GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service (FAS).
